Forks, Knives & Spoonbills

Forks, Knives & Spoonbills Dinners are your opportunity to learn about bird conservation while enjoying unique dishes specially prepared by each creative chef and also meeting fellow passionate conservationists.  Every dinner is different, but all include a five-course, wine-paired conservation dinner featuring dishes inspired by imperiled bird species created by amazing chefs across the state. This year’s featured species include the Eastern meadowlark, the little blue heron, the Eastern screech-owl, the brown-headed nuthatch, the red-winged blackbird, and of course, the roseate spoonbill, whose conservation story inspired this dinner series. As each course is served, SCWF’s Jay Keck will share information about each species and the conservation efforts needed to help them thrive. The menu art is the winner of SCWF’s Art Contest for each year, and you will have your chance to win a canvas print of this artwork at each dinner. Sponsorships are available for each dinner at various levels, and all funds raised go to support SCWF’s conservation and education programs.

Wild Summer Nights

Our Wild Summer Nights Auction has grown to be one of our favorite annual events and fundraisers, raising crucial revenue to support SCWF’s education programs, advocacy efforts, habitat restoration projects, and more. The Wild Summer Nights Auction has a long-standing tradition of being our biggest fundraiser of the year.  This three-day online auction features over 100 items including features hunting & fishing trips, exclusive vacation packages, outdoor experiences and gear, wildlife art, specialty gifts, spa packages, and more. SCWF’s mission to conserve and restore South Carolina’s wildlife and their habitat through education and advocacy has remained constant since our founding in 1931. We fulfill our mission through CARE-based activities; we Conserve, Advocate, Restore, and Educate. This auction is our largest annual fundraiser, and the proceeds support critical-needs conservation programs and innovative educational experiences and science-based initiatives that inform and inspire, so go wild bidding for a great cause!

Annual Wildlife Photography Contest

SCWF’s Annual Wildlife Photography Contest is open to any amateur photographer, and it’s held every Fall. Send us your best photographs that capture the natural beauty of South Carolina’s wildlife and their habitats – in your own backyard or anywhere in the state. There are three categories – Carolina Critters, Scenes of South Carolina, and People in Nature.  These photos help us to inspire conservation on our website, social media, and printed materials.
